Healing as expected......

The last breakage, 4 1/2 years ago.....

This time there is no cast.  I just have to wear a sling to keep the arm relatively immobile.  And I had my 4 week visit with the orthopedist on Thursday.  I already know I am moving it more than they are recommending, but apparently it is healing on schedule.  He asked me to do the little circles with my arm, and then freaked out because the circles were too big, haha.  I can type without having to stand up now, which is nice.  I do have to wear the sling for two more weeks though.  I really hate that thing.  In a bit over a week I will have my first physical therapy appointment, and I'm asking them to let me know when I can expect to lift my arm high enough to dry my own hair.   Romeo is doing a terrific job, but I really want to do it myself.

Last week was a real drag at work, my co-worker was out for nearly the entire week with a terrible cold.  And my other two co-workers hardly offered to help me with the load of work that normally two of us do.  I finally mentioned I might go crazy if she was out on Thursday, and they finally helped out more then.  Honestly, must one ask for help?  Can't they just use their own common sense to realize I can't do the job of two people without a bit of stress?  It just bugs me.  I guess most people are in their own little world, and rarely peek out the windows to see what's going on.

Maybe we should all look around a bit.

Love, 365

    1. Well, I can quit the sling in two weeks, but I still can't lift my arm up high enough to do my own hair....that might take longer. You'd be surprised what the husband can do if he has to step up ~ especially if he has to go out with you :-)

  4. I'm glad you're doing well. I know from experience how much fun it isn't when you only have one arm available for use.

People don't really see other people sometimes. And when you're struggling, it can feel like no one cares. I think people *do* care, but sometimes they don't really stop and think about what it would be like if they were the ones having the issues.

    1. True. The funny thing is that the person I have in mind can be really thoughtful about most things, but not about doing more at work. I confirmed that with one of my other co-workers.

  5. People. How can you be ignored??

Had a severe elbow rt. arm 20 years ago. My teens brought in subway sandwiches for themselves, but none for me. They brought me a cantaloupe. I was furious. Struggled to make myself PBJ, while they said all I had to do was ask for help. Gave them hell for that one.

    Heal well, patiently?

  6. So if I understand you correctly me working from home alone is far better than lazy co-workers. Yes, I do like that part of my job. I'm sorry you have to deal with these knuckle heads who are so self absorbed not to see you could use a hand. No pun intended.

    1. Lol, actually I think she believes that she is soooo busy she doesn't have time to help anyone else. Delusions.

    1. Lol, hope springs eternal! Generally ~ although it may not come through on these "pages", I'm a hopeless optimist. I have already decided I'm not wearing the sling anymore except at the gym.
