The scent of wisteria.....

I have never seen my wisteria so full of blooms!  I keep the windows and back door open so that the scent will waft in, and it's the best freakin air freshner ever.

I took a photo while looking up at the underside.....

The construction of each and every flower......amazing.

There are a LOT of bees.  They are busy though, and even though I was hanging out trying to get photos, they ignored me.  I do worry the dogs will snap at one and have their head swell up.  Which is why we keep liquid Benadryl on hand.

I really can't explain how big this plant is.  I planted it 26 years ago.  The main stem is probably 7 or 8 inches in diameter.  The other side of our fence is probably 20 feet, and it hangs almost to the ground on the other side.

This was taken a couple of days earlier before it really opened up!

  1. Wisteria is gorgeous. What a terrific expanse you have. We have some down the road but I think it's a long way behind yours. Enjoy the colours and aroma, and all those buzzing bees

    1. I am keeping windows open, hoping the scent will blow into the house. I should take a photo of the other side of the fence, there are a lot more flowers there!

  2. Haha... I got a 'buzz' looking at this. :)
Our neighbor has Wisteria. Hers is also lovely, and we can smell it when we go outdoors. It's not quite blooming yet, though. A bit, but more to come. I love spring flowers.

  3. That's beautiful - does yours also get the seed pods that hang down and rattle lightly in breezes as the season closes?
