I am not much of a quilter. I hope to change that, but this quilt ~ intended for my youngest son ~ has been hanging around unfinished for almost 3 years. I finally finished sewing all the 9 patch blocks, and now I need to sew each row, then sew the rows together. My sis, who is quite the quilter suggested I sew two rows together, then another two and so on, then sew those rows all together. She has been doing this for quite awhile, so I'm going to take her recommendation. I vacuumed the living room and laid the blocks down to try and figure out where I wanted the colored blocks. Zoē thought I had put down a new rug for her to lay down on. I would throw a toy, but she would keep coming back to it. Silly dog.
We have been enjoying wonderful weather here, and I'm dreading the hottest part of summer. Today we took Demitri and Zoē for a walk at 7am this morning, and it was really nice. Later we'll be lucky if it is below 75 in the morning.
The garden is coming along.....
The hollyhocks are going great guns. Everything in. the garden is doing fine, with only a bit of leaves being munched on. I plan to use my neem oil spray this evening and hopefully remove the critters that are creating those holes, and getting rid of the pest that likes the morning glory leaves.Have a wonderful weekend!

Good luck finishing that lovely quilt. Theyre such a lovely idea. Unfortunately I'm not a sewer.
ReplyDeleteMy roses have been turned into shredded lace. I have no idea what's doing it. I,ll have to spray something on the leaves. One day. Hope you get rid of your critters
I agree, there seem to be lots of bugs eating holes in the leaves of everything! I meant to spray, but I will have to do that tonight.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, I am not much of a quilter, but I do like sewing. Even when it's frustrating and I take out more seams than I put in, haha.
There is a lot here to be jealous of but walking at 7am isn't one of them. When I first retired I thought there was no way I'd be able to sleep past 5:30 after 20+ yrs of getting up at that time. But it faded fast. 2nd year I'm 'a firm believer that 7am is too early for public consumption. I may be up but I'm having coffee in my pjs. :-)
ReplyDeleteRomeo is an early morning person, and has been for the past 25 years. For awhile he would set an alarm, but I finally gave him the stink eye for that long enough that he finally quit, haha.
DeleteThat quilt top os looking great. Pets know what is important in your attention at any point. Mr T was a real b****r for sitting in work in progress.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am glad that I am nearly done with it. I have learned a lot in making this quilt...not all the lessons were welcomed :-). But I can't wait to send it off to my son to enjoy!
