Ending 2020 in the best way.....

The Child (photo from Disney.com)

Our youngest son ~ who is as obsessed with science fiction as we are ~ recommended we subscribe to Disney+ for a month or two to watch The Mandalorian.  This is a Star Wars series, so if you hate Star Wars, you can scuttle off to another blog, haha.  It is really very good.  We've been glued to it the past few days, but are trying to pace ourselves to watch one or two episodes every evening.  We will finish it in a day or two, but I will re-watch while doing my daily treadmill workout.

I swear there are times I feel like Penny on The Big Bang Theory...you've no idea how many times I've come home and there he is watching one of the many Star Wars movies AGAIN.  I usually immerse myself in a book or a game and try to ignore it, or go to my office and watch something else.  Seriously, how many times will my nerdy husband re-watch these things?

As I said in an earlier post, I baked like mad and gave away cookies, fudge, and cranberry nut bread.  My neighbor reciprocated with the most unusual item.......

An amaryllis bulb, covered in wax that is guaranteed to bloom ~ without watering.  Curious, no?  I'd never seen anything like it, but I haven't been shopping in a long time.  Mostly I just run in and out with the item I needed.  Have you every seen one of these?  It will be cool to see it bloom.

This is the week off our employers gave us.  There's no one at the office....the dentists are alternating being on call for emergencies.  And they paid us ~ unprecedented.  And according to our office manager, never to be repeated, haha.  I think we are all hoping that they (the dentists) enjoy the time off as much as we do.  Perhaps it will happen again!  We'll see.

I am being vaccinated tomorrow with the Moderna vaccine.  I will let you all know how it goes, although as with the yearly flu vaccine, some folks don't feel well for a day or two, where others suffer from no more than a sore arm.  I really don't want to feel sick during my time off, so here's hoping!

Love, 365

  1. I have never seen a Star Wars Movie. I'm proud of that for some strange reason.

I tried those bulbs. They grew but they smelled foul. Are yours smelling bad? We gave them to the neighbor who admired them. We couldn't stand the smell it left in the house. I think something was wrong with our because they should not have smelled that badly.

Please udate us on your Moderna vaccine!
    Enjoy your week off!

    1. Thankfully our bulb doesn't smell bad....but if it starts, I'll do something else with it (probably throw it away).
So, 5 of us showed up at the same time to the pharmacy where we were to get the vaccination. This was this morning, and so far only my arm is a little sore. I guess only time will tell!

  2. I am the one non-science fiction fan in my house. However, I generally can't stay put to watch a full movie at the best of times. I don't know of anyone who has received the vaccine here, although I wish the people in nursing homes would get theirs soon. I almost always get a flu shot and have never ever had any kind of reaction, except a slightly sore arm. I hope it goes well for you. -Jenn

    1. My Mom told me she would be receiving her vaccine today, coincidentally. She is in assisted living, which in my opinion is the new name they use for nursing home. My arm is a tad bit sore, but that's all!

  3. Glad to hear you got the vaccine. Do you need a second jab?
That's one less thing to worry about.
The amaryllis bulb is a real curiosity. I have some bulbs in pots. Beautiful when they flower. Await photos of yours

    1. Yes, we do get a second jab in about 4 weeks. It does make me feel a bit better, but I think it'll take a minute to feel less worried, I need Romeo to get his!
Isn't that amaryllis thing weird? No water? We'll see, I'll definitely post photos when it blooms!

Thanksgiving tales, working again, trip to Greece!...woo hoo

Romeo and I drove to Texas for Thanksgiving.  The drive sucked, but 14 hours later, we were there!  We did go to the wrong house the first...
