The first photo of Sioux in my photos. So cute. But this post isn't about her, I will update later in the week or next weekend.
Retirement: that wonderful word that expresses both wonder and fear. Freedom to pursue what ever you want to do. Fear, because that bi-monthly paycheck will disappear. Yikes.
In June I decided I would work only one more year. There are debts I need to pay off. I already increased my contribution from my paycheck toward retirement. I am making great progress, and if I can continue it, I will be set to give the office my resignation letter. If I do better than my plans, I could leave sooner! But that isn't likely. My only regret is that I'll have to drive to work through another winter. Perhaps it will only snow on Friday or Saturday, ha ha ha.
It will be so nice to make plans to go somewhere and then just go....
This last one: funny, not funny, Lol.

She's gorgeous. Those eyes. The funnies are great - hopefully that will also be us in about 18 months. At least we don't have to commute through snow in the winter time (even in UK).
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot of planning for me! Wish I could pull the plug now!!! Our snow isn't that much, but it usually comes in the evening, then freezes, making for a fun drive on the ice :-)
DeleteCute picture of Sioux. Good for you for having one more year to work! I know my hubby is enjoying his retirement. I think I want to keep working for a few more years (I'll be 64 in December). I hear you though about driving on snow. Lived in Montana for 8 years so I got used to it but I never liked it (ice was worse than snow in my opinion :)

Agreed, ice is much worse. If it's snow and I'm out there early, that's not so bad! My husband has been retired for a bit over 2 years. I think he'll be glad when I can join him!
DeleteRetirement, yeh! Hope everything goes as planned and you can be free of that job
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that you can see the way to retirement! Yes, it is a definite adjustment to a pension payment, so brace yourself for that, but you'll manage. If you know it's your last winter of driving to work, that will motivate you. -Jenn
